I sell some dips for shabbos out of my home. I’d like to add more items like kugels, speciality Salads (corn, coleslaw, chickpea) in addition to more dips. I’m also considering starting to sell challah
How do I know how to price these items?

1) see what the stores charge for these items
2) figure out what it costs you to make them

Figure out cost of ingredients per serving
Then figure out how long it takes u and how much your time is worth. Add that to your cost of ingredients and that’s your price.
If it’s significantly higher than the average going price its probably not worth it…

Thanks I looked at her. Looks like everything she sells is in huge quantities though

Look at how much stores are selling for. If you're making out of ur home you can charge a little more.
For example if the store charges 15 for a kugel u can do 18-20.

This wouldn’t necessarily work because stores buy ingredients in bulk and get them for very cheap so if she’s not getting the ingredients at wholesale prices she’ll probably be losing money on the long run.
