I posted upthread about 8’weeks. Obviously I’d rather longer but I also don’t want my employers to be upset with me

Depends where you work. But I always worked part time and was able to come back at 8 weeks.

Some of my sisters in law need to come back after 6 weeks which is dysfunctional. I saw recently that the fmla laws are changing so smaller businesses also need to follow them. Hopefully soon everyone will be able to take 8 weeks.

Can you do virtual? I can’t imagine sitting in a classroom at that stage.

Are you newish to the workforce? Because I've been in the field a while. What you learn over time is that everyone is replaceable. Whatever you do, however much you kill yourself for your job, your boss can kick you to the curb at a moment's notice. Take the leaves. Don't worry about your boss being upset with you. He only cares about himself.
