My kids that age have gone in the stroller when we walked far at night. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I think that it's mean to make tired little kids walk home far late at night.

Until 3 years old

I think people who have 3 or 4 under 3 years old consider the 3, 2 and 1 year old BIG, but they're really all babies still

I have big spaces so never had more than 1 kid under 3. I still don’t consider over 1 a baby. They are toddlers which is totally different. They can and want to do so much for themselves. We have conversations, they make choices. I always feel bad when I see 2 and 3 year olds treated like babies. They are always so frustrated with being stifled.

Does no one know what a toddler is? Newborn - 1 is a baby. 1-4 are toddlers.

What do you mean 2&3 year olds are stifled? If they're treated like they're age, they're not stifled.

I mean acting like they don’t have thoughts and feelings that matter. A 6 month old doesn’t know what they are wearing for example I dress them as I wish. My 1 plus kids have preferences of styles and colors and they choose. I respect their thoughts and they have many. They are not helpless babies with no thoughts.

I have one toddler and I always say my daughter, since she was born.
But I don't consider her a baby past 1 year.

Agreed
Although for the most part their thoughts don’t exactly match up with reality. And of all my toddlers only one ever had clothing preferences.

I take a stroller for my 6 yr old if we're walking late at night and she's not the youngest
Still sometimes call her my baby as well as kids younger than her

I used to push my 6 and 4 year old together in a double stroller when we walked far at night . It’s not necessary to force a small child to walk when they are barely awake . It’s actually quite mean .

Am I the only one getting frustrated at these replies? The question wasn't "until what age do you call your kid your baby," it was until what age do you consider your child to be a baby. Tachlis, you treat a baby different than a toddler, and a toddler different than a child, and a child different than a teen or adult, right? So- at what age do you consider your child to be a baby, ie they have not yet become a toddler.

For me, that's 2. When my kid is under 2, I would still say "she's just a baby!" and I would refer to her age as a number of months, because "1.5" is still too broad a number, there's such a massive variety of skill and ability coming in every month from 18 months to 24. When they hit 2 though, I stop using months, and they walk well and talk well and have opinions and thoughts- they're definitely not a baby anymore, they're a toddler.

After age 1 they're toddlers not babies. Bh at that point my kids are walking so it makes a huge difference. At age 3 they turn from toddler to little kid.

Around age 3 they start to understand the world and can do for themselves. Usually toilet trained by 3. I think of babies as needy beings. Around 3 they become less needy. Some kids are precocious or delayed but typical kids are somewhat independent at 3. As any playgroup morah of 2 year olds. She will tell you about the transition from 2 to 3. And it's not even about how much they communicate. They suddenly become social and know what they want.
