My bill from my OB, after giving birth was about $1300. My bill from the hospital was about $3,000.

I’m assuming that’s after insurance covered a portion because that’s very low

It probably isn't relevant to OP but certain qualified high deductible plans enable people to save taxes as the money accumulates tax free and you also can deduct from taxes
It is complicated so I am just giving a very brief overview. You should consult your tax preparer in terms of how it might be helpful to you.
