just for curiosity sake, wondering what types I'm chatting with on imamother. Different affiliations means different cultures, beliefs, etc. yet we have so many interesting discussions together.
if you choose other, please explain.

Really tempted to choose other because I hate labels, but went with yeshivish for the sake of an accurate poll.
Maybe open minded yeshivish? It’s the world we’re placed in, DH wears a black hat, went to Brisk, and definitely prioritizes serious Gemara learning, but other than that - I think we’re really individualistic.
We’re crazy about EY and pretty open about it. I love YU Torah and intellectualized learning. We love the depth of Chassidish Torah and warmth and chessed of the chassidim near us - people often think we’re “heimish” because so many of our friends are more chassidish.
Our kids have friends from different kinds of homes, so long as the parents are sincere and responsible people by our estimation.
What does that make us?

This is a bit confusing because Litvish and Sefardi are more like ethnicities, but Yeshivish, Chassidish,
JPF, and MO are affiliations. (And Chassidish has a way bigger spectrum than JPF for instance.) Meaning, someone can be Sefardi and Yeshivish or Litvish and JPF, depending on where their ancestors are from. So my point is, it's hard to decide which poll option to choose because many people will fall under two of these.

A few years ago my little girl came home and told me,
We have some Chassidish girls in class
Some Hamish,
Some litfish,
But I am the only one that Orthodox

I'm almost 38 years old and at some point during my life I think it was. Someone decided that they didn't want to be labeled, so they called themselves just plain from and then that became a label unto itself.
