I very much dislike babies in sneakers so I get a cute sandal or summer shoe that can pass for everything in one🙂

In my community in Israel most people don't spend alot on shoes in general, because of this most 2yr old girls do have cheap shabbos shoes.
The furthest my 2yr old will walk on shabbos is to the park around the corne. I don't feel the need for expensive shoes that are only worn once a week for a couple of hours when we go out.

I don't. They don't know the difference and it is a waste of money. I buy 1 supportive Shoe at a time.
I wait until they are old enough. My toddler now loves his sneakers. I work hard and I don't waste money...
But of course I was talked down To by the nice kollel wife who is fully supported and doesn't work (and the community collected for when her last were born. Eg: Someone sponsored a year of diapers for her). All her kids get new shabbos shoes by season...

We do very supportive sneakers and after they've been walking a few months with those I'd get shabbos shoes.
Or shoes that work as both like sandals or booties
