Also, we are not sending our children to camp this summer. We make very simple dinners for them, and stretch as much as possible for ourselves. I've tried to make sure the kids don't notice what's going on, although they've asked a lot of questions about where different items are going. The truth is that I'm willing to even sell the dining room table but that is the one thing my husband really wants to keep. There are many ways to conserve money with the food budget alone. Most likely you are already aware of this though.
