It doesn't burn fat. What's so great about it? Every exercise includes stretch but this one is all stretch.

As I said before, it doesn't burn fat. It doesn't elevate the heart. It depends on which kind of yoga, really. And I don't think Bikram, the hot yoga, is healthy. Also, yoga doesn't increase muscle mass. You need weights for that.

I have worn my heart monitor during yoga, and I am in cardio mode much of the time. if it's cardio, you're burning fat.

you need weights for muscle mass? because calisthenics uses your body as "weights".

and bikram yoga isn't healthy? why?

no offense, but if you're going to come spout opinion as fact you'd better be sure your "facts "are correct

huge fan of Yoga. Most mainstream Yeshivish Rabbis today say it is fine. Most yoga classes are for mind body but not centered in the real Mekor of what yoga can be. So find out if they source their practice in those realms if not enjoy the exercise.

yoga has literally helped keep me saner and happier and calmer.

I do not believe in mind/body stuff. I don't even believe in vitamins. but yoga? it was a game changer for me.

When I started doing yoga years ago, I asked a very prominent posek about it and he said "what's yoga?"
He clearly couldn't answer the question. I asked another who said it's ok when stripped of any religious over/undertones and it's just for exercise/relaxation. I've been to many kinds of classes with different instructors and I felt most comf. with a practical frum one for this reason. I never went for the floaty, spiritual crunchy kind of instructor. Good luck!
