There's a video I saw on Facebook that is playing with my head. A helicopter dropping supplies to trapped yazidiz. Then twenty or so people manage to pull themselves into the copter. They cry from sheer relief. The rest are left on the ground.
Why are we not helping them? What is their history?

They are monotheists. The Peacock Angel is their world ruler. They are actually quite fascinating. Try googling.

The Yazidis have caught my heart. I wish there was something I could do to help them.

Yazidis are religious minority group in Iraq/Kurdistan/Syrian border.
Because their belief incorporates Zoroastrianism, they are considered
heretics by IS.
They were forced to flee into a desolate mountain, as IS targeted
Yazidis villages to murder men, and to capture women and
children to be sold as slaves. I'm pretty certain UNHCR was not involved
but it was most likely western alliance that did the air drop.
My recollection is that the mountain was captured by kurdishtan
Peshmerga to allow those who were trapped to escape.
I must point out that the incident took place last summer, so it's
nearly 1 yr ago.
