I don’t care if you’re antivax or not, this is objectively hilarious 😂

Have you taken the pertussis/whooping cough shot during any pregnancy within the past ten years? That normally includes a tetanus shot, in which case you would already be covered.

No, my OB does not give it

It’s not just because of the needle, though in most cases that part is not an issue as it’s totally sterilized. It’s really because your child is essentially having an open wound for weeks and can lead to exposure

The q here isn't really about a shot
It's about obsessive thinking

Here is a nice flowchart that explains it.
Adults should get a tetanus booster every 10 years in any event.
If one has a tetanus-prone injury, like puncture wounds or wounds contaminated with dirt, and more than 5 years have passed since the last booster, or the vaccination status is unknown, one should receive a tetanus shot.

Maybe

But being obsessive doesn’t negate the fact that she should absolutely get the shot since there is actual cause for it.

Obsessive thinking is ALWAYS a question! And when you think you've doggies out the answer to that questions, there are questions about THAT.

(And my arm already aches just THINKING of the shot 🤣 thanks anxiety)

But I did also want info on taking the shot.

Anyways, I'm at the urgent care now waiting to get the shot.

The shot really isn’t so bad at all. I thought it would be much worse but it takes less than a second and barely pinched me. And I’m someone who has major anxiety over needles

I'm concerned about side effects, not the actual shot.

I’ve had a patient with tetanus - it was one of the most awful things to witness
Regarding side effects from the shot - the worst you will get is muscle aches and soreness at injection shot. I just had my booster for my work, and while it’s uncomfortable - I will never forget the eyes of the patient locked in from tetanus.

Sounds scary Sad
I actually did not get it in the end. The pa at the urgent care claimed that if it were her she wouldn't take one. There's no puncture wound or even a visible mark on the skin.
I told her if I decide to get one anyways, I'll come back.

She's right, but I'm surprised she said that
