I'm sure plenty of people think you're just imagining the negativity, and hopefully there are people who do mean the compliment purely in a positive way. but honestly, unfortunately, you're for sure right about some people. I've had someone tell me, "you have such a beautiful face. and so does your sister, but she really needs to lose weight in order to look nice."
some people are just... not worth hearing even their compliments.
