Camping in tent in backyard

My kids are sleeping in the sukka this week. They keep saying how much they love it , so much fun, adventursome and asking if we can buy a tent for them to sleep in the backyard during the year. I never heard of such of thing -do people do that? Sleep in their own backyard? I'd love to give them a fun time and wondering if this is common?

I don't know about common, but I remember doing it as a little girl. It was a special treat, normally in the summer holidays.

My brother in law used to take his children camping in the park down the road, which was even more exciting!

Does your husband sleep in the sukkah? How will they feel about camping out without an adult?

I have done this. So fun! and its nice to have access to a normal bathroom. ngl, there were times we used the facili'trees' in the backyard

Yup - we've done this.. though our tent is also used for camping away from our house... not sure I'd buy one exclusively for backyard use... seems a bit silly, maybe borrow?
