Just bought a new dryer
I put it on a setting that was for 40 min
I come back after an hour and there was still 20 min left and still damp
came back after another 20 min or so and it said there was 7 min left but the clothing was dry and hot
is it broken? how could it be I just bought it
for reference I put in on a cycle delicate

thanks all!

My machine has sensors that adjust when it senses the clothing is still wet. I use the washing machine app from LG on my phone so I don't go downstairs until it says the clothing is done. But I see it adjusting itself.

ok so its normal that the time is adjusted
but how come it didn't turn off when the clothing was fully dry? maybe it doesn't have sensors? but it has to or else the time wouldn't have gone up, no?

It makes sense if the cycle was on delicate, it takes much longer to dry

Also I rarely use the settings that it comes with. I do the manual dry or I think its called speed dry on my LG and put the times and temp in myself. The only time I use the pre programed settings is for towels.
