Hi! does anyone know if u can use a
self clean oven for pesach?how manytimes
do u have toclean it?do I have to cover up anything?

I imagine there might be dif answers ... generally speaking the answer is yes ... a full self-clean cycle should be sufficient ...
however, I do a short cycle - clean out the insides with a sponge and some elbow grease (while still warm) - then do a full cycle ...

I would say ask you LOR. But just to give you an idea, ours says to do it like 3 hours plus the door and the racks are not kashered from it so you must cover the inside of the door very well with siliver foil and either change the racks or cover with silver foil as well.

I have heard once is enough ... I have also heard twice. Ours has three settings so one heavy cleaning should do it.

Personally we bought separate racks, but I never heard that. Actually, that's HOW you kasher the racks.

You can ruin your appliance this way. It's not meant to work like that.

I don't know, my parents have been doing it like that for over twenty years and they never had a problem. They had to replace the oven a few years ago but that's because it got heavy usage and it was over 15 yrs old.
