I love Basmati rice! Thanks imamother for letting me know just how delicious it is.
With it's nutty flavor, it's really true that it doesn't need much seasoning. I've been hooked since after Pesach!

Does it need any special cleaning or checking?

Just your usual cleaning/checking rice method.

It's my favorite rice! I also like the fact that it's flavorful all by itself.

Oh yeah, I think I like Jasmine rice better.
I just made rice with mushrooms for shabbos dinner and lunch.

Does Basmati need different cooking than regular rice?
I've always cooked mine the same way I would regular rice but the package I just bought says to soak it first. Is that just an alternate method or is 'real' Basmati different (until now I've always gotten the light brown texmati, now I bought a big bag of basmati from Sam's club)?
Please help ASAP as I really want to make it for supper tonight!!!
TIA
