Pachelbel's Cannon, that's cute! Speaking of cannons, I used to think that Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture was about the USA vs. England war of 1812, not Russia against Napoleon... I wonder why they play it around here on the 4th of July...
I don't think I've heard of Salomone Rossi either.

It's played on the 4th because you can do cool fireworks to the cannon firebursts. The Boston Pops does a good one every year, and I saw it once at Tanglewood.

We've been there only a few times, but another BIG fan of Tanglewood here.
The area is sooo beautiful. Strongly recommended.
