what does your family do? I am trying to give a variety of options since our shul includes a wide range of observance levels as well as minhags and both sefardi and ashkenazi.
simanim is something which less observant people often dont do but which is easy to take on and heighten the spirituality of the chag, so I really want to include appealing ideas as well as some recipes.
last year we did a simanim salad bar. I was thinking about soup this year....
Deadline august 4, so hurry!
thanks!

Leeks, squash, beetroot tops, dates, pomegranates, fish head as standard yehi razones. We don't do lubya (black eyed peas) for some reason. I make leek patties, sautee beetroot tops (or chards, I know some uses spinach) with minced galic. I posted both recipes--search under simanim, leek patties, prasa kofta. Mrs Angel's sephardic cookbook has all different blessings whose english translation has good puns (eg for leek--may we lack no luck).
