We are going to Israel for a week before RH and want to stay in the Old City for Shabbos? Does anyone have any ideas how to make that happen? Rental? Hotel? Family with an extra room? Any advice is appreciated.

There's a brand new hotel right outside the Old City called the Mamilla Hotel. Stunning but quite pricy, but if that's an option for you, check it out.

I called them this week for a quote for shabbes
firstly its only rabanut hechsher - not mehadrin.
I was quoted $320 for a room and breakfast for a couple. Meals were 280 shekels each meal pp. WOW!
