her legs spread out, around the negel vasser bucket- it is small enough to fit between her little legs.
with my left hand, across her chest, under both arms, leaning over the bucket, I wash her hentalach with my right hand.
she loves it!!! and I love it! |
That's the exact description of how we've been doing it. It worked really well up until a few days ago. Now, for some reason, he stopped liking it and adamantly protests being washed, be it by the bed or sink. I try to distract him and come back to it later when he's in a better mood, only to no avail. He screams, hits and pushes the negel vasser bucket or just vehemently turnes away by the sink. Should I just leave it alone?! But then again, that wouldn't be 'healthy' for his nefesh to be left with ruach raah, as has been well noted earlier

So here I am, wondering what others do/would do in such a situation.

I wouldn't force a baby to have his hands washed.
Washing a newborn's hands (for negel vasser) is a concept I learned about on this site.
I don't wash my kids' hands until they can walk.

I have heard that one shouldn't bother until the child has a set morning routine. many babies don't.
that being said, I do it when they're willing to cooperate. until then, not happening.
