can I freeze plain cooked pasta? does it survive the freezer and come out the same as it went in??

It sure can. It comes out pretty well if you rinse it very well, drain, mix with a little oil, and wrapped tightly. It shouldn't stay in the freezer forever though
Don't season it until it's defrosted.

I freeze pasta all the time. It doesn't come out the same as it went in but if you warm it up right, it's fine. The correct way to microwave frozen pasta is to put a wet paper towel over it. (I don't bother with this) You can also warm it up in a pot or oven with sauce.
