Some of the Chabad Rebbetzins had some pretty unusual names by today's standards: Chaya Mushka and Shterna Sara, for example.

I guess it depends on what circles you move in. Chaya Mushka certainly isn't 'unique or unusual' in Lub. circles!

Berel Wein tells a story about a family that had 6 girls - Gila, Rina, Ditzah, Chedva, Ahava, Achva and then a boy named Shalom!

it's so much fun really choosing a name for your kid, and not naming him/her after someone. I don't think I'll ever get a chance to do that.
