I need to make dessert for my mil's chanuka party.

The party will be fleishig, so it needs to be pareve.

I think I prefer s/t that is individually served.

Prefereably s/t that I can do in advance - (the day before is good enough)- because I'll probaly make fritters too & that needs to be done last minute in order for it to stay fresh.

make cupcakes and stick chocolate coins into the frosting.

Also, one year I made long thin filo pastries filled with shredded apples, sugar and cinnamon and fluffed out the ends to look like candles

How about a delicious home made ice cream?? There are tons of recipes.. two layered, three layered, and lots of crunchy type toppings. You can also buy ready toppings if you wish.

One year I made a 10 inch round, 6 layer ice cream cake. (2 x three tone..) It was scrumptious.
I decorated it from outside, as if it were a fancy cake. I also formed an elegant Menorah on the top, using long round wafers. The burning flames were formed with a decorating tube, filled with red/orange icing... also iced the edges with floral borders.

If you prefer something fast and easy, you can buy the ready made, "cupcake" sized tins, that come with the doughs inserted already. You can find them in the freezer section.. All you have to do is add from a variety of canned pie fillings. Bake them, and before serving, sprinkle lightly with confectioner sugar.
You might rather choose to make your own 'home-made filling.. yum!

I am also planning to make some desert.. not yet sure what. Possibly cheese pies, and iced coffee, or perhaps a three tone ice cream. I have a delicious recipe for that. if you're interested, I will gladly post it.

Good luck.

Choc Moose Ice cream cake שהכל

12 eggs seperated
12 oz dark chocolate, or baking choc - melted
2 tbs. coffee - dissolved in drop hot water
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 vanilla sugar
Mix whites well - gradually add sugar, mix till very stiff.
Reduce speed to low.. slowly add the yolks first, next the coffee, next v. sugar, and last the choc. Blend only untill combined.

Pour 1/2 of the batter into a 16x10 roaster pan.
Bake in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees, for 20 minutes. Allow to cool.
Whip one container of whipped cream, and combine with second half of batter.
Pour onto first layer - Freeze

6 eggs sep.
1/2 cup sugar
1 scoop vanilla s.
1/4 cup roasted almonds, chopped.
Follow instructions from first recipe, adding the almonds last.
Pour unto second layer.
Decorate top to your preference..
I like to top it with two tone (white & black) chocolate, peeled into curls.
When I don't want to bother too much, I simply grate some chocolate instead.. You can also use choc sprinkles..
HAPPY CHANUKAH EVERYONE

May we all join the Kohen Gadol as He lights the Menorah in Yerushalayim Eeyr Hakodesh,

Wow!! sounds real beautiful.
I'd love to know how it's done.. If you can kindly share the recipes, including detailed instructions, the apr size of the pastry candles (baked), etc etc. I'd really appreciate it.

Do you also have any photo's to show?
TIA
