I'd love your experience and tips please.
DS is 14 months old and I'd like to put him in playgroup 2 or 3 times a week just for 3-4 hours. I've never done this before and I'm very picky about who looks after him, so I just need some advice on what to look for in a playgroup besides for obvious red flags.
EDITED for privacy reasons.. sorry

Many things I'll mention you're already looking for, but here's my list.
--Teacher/child ratio
--If 'frumkeit' is a concern, if it meets your requirement
--Safety knowledge & procedures
--Menu/snack requirements
--Happy teacher means happy children usually
--Contact other parents
--Room to play & toys
--Observation more than once if possible, or surprise visits
--Vacation & 'sick' days rules

are you looking for an offical legal playgroup or a babysitter? there are babysitters who are great and caring.

what do you mean by official? here there is something called Ofsted but it makes no difference in me choosing one playgroup over another..
