Given the context it is either Romaniote or Ladino.

It's pronounced vichna. I don't know what it means though. Rebbetzin Vichna Kaplan was the founder of Bais Yakov in the US (not sure where, brooklyn?). She was a student of sara Shenirer.

It's not Vichna but Vachna, and it can't be Yiddish. Either Ladino or Romaniote.

Sorry, but the closest my book gets is Vichna and it's Polish in origin although some consider it to be a derivation of Vite.
