I just weaned my 2 year old and he always nursed to sleep or at least it got him tired enough to get into his crib.. so when I stopped, he would just bounce around the crib and play and laugh and do anything but lie down. So I told him if he would lie down, I'd tell him about his day.. He looked at me and then lied down and I told him how we woke up this morning, played, ate breakfast.. etc etc.. in detail, and he just lay there fascinated,... it takes a few minutes and then he's totally relaxed and we say Shema and that's it!! It's worked like a charm for 6 nights now!!
Not sure if this will work for anyone else, but thought I'd share!

I like that. I used to babysit for a family that had "happy thoughts" before the kids went to sleep. I like to do that with my girls, to give them nice memories to think about while they go to sleep. I also tell them what is on our schedule for tomorrow. They love it.

Thanks so much for sharing. Ds refuses to sleep in his bed will try your way out. I've got a feeling it will work.
