Since Etka Gitel is about much more than just "Shortchanged" which has been retired anyway, I started a new thread so we can discuss her articles and ask her questions.
Etka dear, I have a question... in this week's installment of Standards, I am afraid you made a shtickle oversight. Which mother doesnt ask the NAME of the girl being redt to her son before saying yes? How did Sori Hochman not ask the rebbetzin for the name? I've never hear of such a thing. Am I overlooking something?

Yeah and only one reference apiece? The name I kind of assumed wasn't mentioned in the piece but must have been exchanged off-stage somewhere. But where one set of parents takes it on the word of their rav alone and the other set just hears the name and swoons (what young bachur has THAT much name recognition?!)... I dunno... I'm enjoying the story overall so I'll just hang on, flukey parents notwithstanding...
