Is this true? I was checking and found a worm. Now someone tells me dill cannot be properly washed and it can't be used at all. Is this true?

I buy frozen, as well as other herbs. Much less hussle when cooking.

aleh Katif has dill. It's grown in a bug free environment.
As far as I know aleh katif products are accepted by most people.

It says on Aleh katif to soak all products in soapy water for 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse well.

Here are two links for how to check regular dill (if you are comfortable with that):

Either I cook in the thick bags - I think like cheese cloth.

Or bug free, but only with Rabbi vay's hechsher

Personally, we don't use the frozen herb cubes, but I wish we did.... they look so easy.

I did see something on one of the Jewish websites in the last few months (sorry, I don't remember where) that a number of bug-expert mashgichim claimed it was not possible to check fresh dill properly.

BTW, when I read your title I thought it said dil and was referring to a daughter-in-law (thought maybe someone was taking advantage) - Smile
