Does anyone feel uncomfortable (safety-wise) with leaving a crockpot on while you are out of the house all day? Seems most people do it or that it is made for that, but I am uncomfortable. I do think it would make a difference if I could start doing this, though.

If I didn't leave it on during the day, my girls and I wouldn't have had dinner ready to eat when I came home at 6:30 from work when I was a single mom.

Yes, it's the same as a percolator.

I think the main risk is that if there's a power outage, the food will spoil.
I felt guilty leaving it on in a hotel room, but it was so good to come back from a day's trip to hot cooked food.
