Workmen left ladder. What to do?

About 1 month ago 2 (idiotic) workmen came to clean my roof. They left their 6 ft ladder. I called them to remind them and they have yet to return for it. How long do I have to leave it outside my house waiting for them?

After I called them I threw away their phone #, so I cannot call them back
