I will be IYH starting to teach at a conservative hebrew school for 5 autistic boys in 5th grade. They range from lower functioning (verbal) to higher functioning aspergers. They have had frum teachers in the past and the school has no real curiculum for these boys.
The principle basicly said "make them happy to be Jewish".

any ideas of what to teach them?

TIA

The directions from the principal sound quite vague. What has been done with these boys up until now? Can you get lesson plans from those who taught them in previous years? I imagine talking to their former teachers would be very helpful. If not, perhaps you could send some kind of questions to the parents, so that you have a clue. It would also maybe be helpful to find out what is being taught to the neurotypical 5th graders in the school. Sometimes, it is best to work with that curriculum, and alter it according to the needs of the students.

You have a real challenge because you won't know how they function until you work with them for a while. If you can get permission to call each parent ahead of time, you can get a wealth of information about their individual needs and interests. Ask each parent what activities their child likes to do best and also what things upset them. Make notes. Then plan hands-on activities, arts and crafts based on their functioning. Activities could include drawing or painting, making tzitzis, mosaics, sorting Torah cards, making shofars. Teaching concepts should be done while they are working with their hands. Warning, some may not like to get their hands wet. Good luck!!!

You could help them with their spelling, so you also improve?
