I'm becoming a preschool morah for 1.5-2.5 year olds. I have 6 kids so far (both boys and girls) and the hours are from 9 to 3. I need help setting a schedule for them. What's your dayy like? And if you has any ideas for activitys that they enjoy and songs that they like would be very helpful. Thanks so much.

Are you setting up your own playgroup or is it in a school? If it's the latter there may be a template you can follow from previous teachers.

Firstly, 1.5 - 2.5 is a HUGE range at that age. Where I work I don't think any of the classes have more than a 3 month range. So keep that in mind.
1.5 are still toddlers.
Here is what I would recommend:
9am freeplay (toys, art table, sensory/manipulative table)
10am cleanup
10:05 Gather children on rug for a movement song (or 2)
10:15 wash hands for snack, sit at table, eat snack (you can sing a song or read a story at the table)
Go outside for 30 mins (or more)
10:30 get coats on, go outside for 30 mins to an hour.
11:30 morning circle
11:40 if its a day you have an art project, you can do it now, otherwise you can do music or another short free play
12:00 wash hands for lunch
Lunch, when done wash hands and faces. As children finish, they can go read a book on the rug.
When all children finished lunch, read one or two books together.
Nap time.
Wake up, snack, free play or outdoor play.

Op here- thanks for your replies. I know it's a big range in ages. I work in a 3 year old preschool and I'm watching some of the teachers kids, mine, and a few others that mothers need a babysitter. So it's more like babysitting (as far as what the parents are concerned) but I'd still like to make it into a schudule, I think it'll be easier for me and the kids. Thank you de_goldy, that was what I was looking for. If anyone has songs or activities that they might enjoy, please share. Thanx!

I teach 2.5-3 yr olds from 9-3. here is my schedule:
9:15 - breakfast
9:50 - bathroom
10:00 - outside/indoor playground
11:00 - davening & circle time
11:15/11:30 - arts & crafts
12:00 - playtime
1:00 - lunch
1:45 - naptime
2:30 - mitzvah notes, calendar, weather, bathroom
2:45 - packup

HEY!
I teach 3 year olds from 9:30-3:30
9:30-11: free play-always take out different stuff etc do some fun stuff like free painting, shaving foam, playing with rice, water, sand kids love these things!
11:00-1:10am davening, tzedakah and mitzvah notes
we open one eye we open tow song b4 davening
have a happy morning have a happy day Hashem is with us thru out the day...
11:10-11:30-healthy snack and milk time
11:30-12:00pm circle time for sedrah we make puppet shows and act out sedrah
12:00-12:30- sedrah craft/activity
12:30-1:00pm-lunch
1:00-1:10- indoor exercises with music etc
1:10-1:30-kids lie on mat and lights off-resting time sometimes tell a story at the time
jump little rabbits lights on and kids jump around
1:30-2:10pm outside time
2:10-2:30pm-afternoon snack
2:30-2:45-we learn a concept like weather, winter, animals etc...circle time and hands on activity
2:45-3:15-concept craft
3:15-3:30 coats on and sit on mat review of the day and every child gets little 'candy'

Seriously, "candy??"
Why must you do that? What about another healthy snack?
I am currently teaching preschool but not a general ed. nor a Jewish population either, so I'm not going to post my daily schedule here...

As a preschool teacher I made a CD of songs to teach kids about davenning and mitzvot. We used it in the morning at circle time, and acted out the talking parts (like washing hands and brushing teeth). If you want to hear the songs, you can go to my website: www.morahleahmusic.com
