I'm wondering if anybody has experience with the sleep center in Manhattan.
I have tried EVERYTHING for my daughter who cannot fall asleep before 12am and nothing works.
I wonder if it's geared for children and how it works. Or can someone recommend any other ideas?

I went to one in Bay Ridge. We end up leaving early on in the night. It was too tough for our little one.

Thanks. I called up and left a message. At this point I'll try anything.

What did you end up doing. Did you ever solve the problem? Would you not recommend a sleep center?

I don't recommend a sleep center unless you suspect sleep apnea.

Do you mind if I ask you how you diagnosed the problem? I spoke to my pediatrician today who told me no sleep center. What am I supposed to do? This child is up almost a whole night every night. It's affecting her quality of life and mine. I am so desperate.

I am crying for you and your baby. We went through more than 2 years of hell with this.
It was a long process that ended (started?) at the Gastroenterologist. Basically my daughter wasn't eating or sleeping properly and was very cranky. Finally before she turned 2 I heard that there was therapy available for sensory issues. I fought tooth and nail to get her approved for Early Intervension services. BH, even though at first they told me she probably wouldn't be eligible for anything, once I got the process going they let me know that I could get evaluations for feeding and nutritional therapy as well, because of her low weight.
The nutritionist that worked with us suspected a medical issue. She sent us to a gastroenterologist who wasn't able to help us. I found another GI who suspected silent reflux. I was floored because dd had zero, nada, no symtoms. But she said that if baby was still waking up 6-8 times a night at age 2 and a half, then she strongly felt it was because of reflux.
Another long story about how we started meds, did an endoscopy, still didn't find reflux. Doctor was adament about staying on reflux meds. Continued to send us from one specialist to another, to rule out other medical issues. At the ENT, they put a camera down dd's throat, and we finally saw the reflux. Voicebox was swollen, adenoids eaten up.
We increased the reflux meds, changed meds a few times, and she finally developed an appetite Baruch Hashem.
It was only then that I realized that although I didn't think the first reflux medicine she took helped her in any way, I looked back at the dates and realized that she had started sleeping for the first time when those first meds were subscribed.
Go to a pediatric gastroenterologist. What I was told is that even if they suspect it, they give the meds as they are not dangerous.
We also worked with our pediatrician when baby was 12 months old on another thing. It helped us get through some nights. You may PM me about that.
