op here....it's for the hebrew letter yid... wanted more a common word with letter yid...
I think that a 4yr old would rather say gela bus than yellow bus.

Um, I guess that's the same as "yud" or "yod." We must have different accents
Is it OK to bring pictures rather than objects? That makes letter-of-the-day a little easier.
Are you looking for Hebrew words? Here are a few:
Yad
Yeled/yaldah
yerakot
yarok (anything green)
yanshuf
yareach
yehudi
Hope that helps.

A girl in dd class made show & tell for 'yid' recently. She made blue jello in little plates for all kids ("yom" as in water) then all kids got a jelly fish to put in the yom. This was kindergarten kids.

You can dress up one of her dolls as a YID-JEW, male or female.
If you prefer male. put on a yarmulka. Curl some decorating ribbons for the payos and glue them on.. you can even shape a cotton ball into a beard and glue it on..
For female-YIDENNE, tie a handkerchief on her head for a tichel.
You can attatch a tiny Siddur or Tehillim to her (or his) hands or wherever it fits suitably.
Good luck
