we got cute tights as a hand me down for my 18 mo old but there is a hole in the upper leg (it is covered by the skirt, unless he is doing 'acrobatics'). The actual hole is maybe the size of a dime, maybe smaller, with runs come out the top and bottom about 1.5-2 inches in length (I am terrible at measuring)
is there any way to fix it?
Do have to darn it? If so, how?
can I just sew it?
should I toss it?

If there are runs I don't know if there is anything you can do about it. I have sewn a small hole if the tights were new. It does make a bump so if your daughter is sensitive it might bother her. I wouldn't sew a hole in the foot area.

nope, right under the tushie.
oh, and the stocking are thick knit ones, not the thin silkie ones-not sure if that makes a difference

You could sew the hole and put a bit of nail polish at the end of every run so it wouldn't run further.

I would do the exact same thing.
