I haven't tried it, but the local bakery sells their cookie dough to make hamentashen with, so I'm assuming it's fine!

I've used it. It was fine.
one tip (and this is true for most cookie doughs) roll it out using powdered sugar instead of flour. It'll taste better, be easier to reroll (it won't dry it up) and easier to pinch closed.
Hatzlacha!

I used the pillsbury (OU-D) dough and it DID NOT work!!!
The hamentaschen didn't keep their shape at all. Never again!

I've never used a store bought dough, but growing up we'd make hamantashen cookies out of CC cookie dough (just for fun, not to give out) and they spread like crazy. I have once made hamantashen out of rugalach dough and it was delicious, but the corners opened up a bit on many of them.
