to serve fish tonight before the fast? I can't think of anything else that is filling enough.

Fish is actually a great meal before a fast because it has lots of protien.

I am not a fish eater but I have heard that fish causes you to be thirsty. if you serve it early enough it probably is fine my friend is doing that.

Every fish is different, as are the ways they are prepared.
I plan on having salmon tonight for protein, but make some pasta or potatoes with it as a carb side dish which will give more energy and take longer to break down.

Fish will make you thirsty. I'm making a big potato soup, pasta, fruit, and cheese.

yes- that is why I ruled out pasta. what else is there during the nine days though besides fish or pasta?
