I'm new at this, so I hope this is the right place to post this message.
If you're a parent of teens, and are concerned about them drinking and/or starting to smoke on Purim, I saw that there's going to be a phone in free teleconference discussing this topic with Rabbi Yakov Horowitz of Project YES and Rabbi Avraham Mifsud of NASO in Detroit and Dr. Bentzion Twerski.
I've listened in to their teleconferences before and they're really helpful.
Here's the info:
The "Spirit" of Purim -- Smoking and Drinking on Purim
Listen in to gain more awareness about current trends among the youth of our community, and about the effects of drinking and smoking. In addition, learn some effective tools to help you open and maintain a healthy dialogue with your children on this topic. An open, loving, and respectful relationship with your children, together with making your children aware of the very real dangers of these substances, are two critical factors in protecting your children from substance abuse.
