Hi, does anyone know how to make a dough cover for a beef stew? I had some recently and the cook won't share her recipe.Basically,it was a beef stew, served straight out of the oven in a pot .The pot was covered with a flaky dough-it was delicious. I can make the beef stew, but can anyone help me with the dough, please

Could the dough have been malawach?

My guess is you make or buy a flaky dough and roll it out.

Cook your stew normally and then about 15 minutes before you serve it, place the dough on the top and pop it into the oven to bake the dough.

Personally, I'd do individual portions in ramikins or aluminum pans.

This is a simple pot pie recipe. Carla from Top Chef just made a winning chicken pot pie. I don't know the ingredients she used but you can get an idea from her by going to Bravo TV's website since they post all their recipes.

thanks, everyone! I will let you know how it turns out! I was also thinking of baking individual chalot on top of inverted muffin cups and then filling them with stew right before serving
