My 6 yr old daughter is heavy . She complains that she is sweaty under her arms. Now that it's getting hot, she really smells.
Am I supposed to start her young on deoderant, or just give her a bath more often?

Probably both. Ask your dr.

Overweight girls often start puberty early.
I know a 7 year old girl who should be in a bra next year.

It's usually just fat and not puberty. Chances are she will stay the same size till age 11-12.

my 6 year old has been getting strong underarm odor since she turned 5. she's not heavy but she's incredibly tall and developed for her age. anyhow, I try to make sure she showers daily and really washes herself well. morning showers are better than evening ones too so she's fresh in the AM. on days when it's really bad, I do use a bit of deodorant on her.
it's probably helpful to make a paste from baking soda to help with the odor, and better than deodorant, but I never remember to do this and pulling the stick out of the medicine cabinet is just easier.
