My laptop hard drive crashed & lost all information. Unfortunately I did not have any backup! A computer specialist tried to restore the information but was unsuccessful. Does anyone know of a good computer specialist in Brooklyn or Upstate? I read on line about some companies who I ship the hard drive to them & they can restore the information. Can anyone help me out here??? PLEASE!!!!!!

Backups are IMPORTANT, Peter Norton always says its not if you will lose data, but when..

Try Tech-Master PC's
Lakewood, NJ 08701
(732) 423-6665

They should be able to image the drive...

I wasn't able to get any of my info so I had to start all over but consider it a lesson learn and create a backup drive.

OnTrack is one of the best, but they are extremely expensive - only use them if the information you lost is really valuable to you.

there's a program called recover which I have used for smaller drives (I.e. ipod) I don't know whether it will work for a proper hard drive, but no harm in trying.

Good luck!

There could be harm in trying. If there's a possibility in getting back your info, and you play around with the hard drive, you may lose it all.

I think that's what happened to me. I tried to recover it myself first and then sent it in to one of the most expensive labs in the US and they couldn't recover it for me Crying
