I am moving to lakewood and need to have internet in my house immediately following the move so that I can connect to my office and work from home.
which companies service lakewood? can I get internet without a landline? I need reliable internet, with decent speed. I dont want to have to pay too much- my current plan where I live now is 19.99/mo from verizon, but the internet has been flakey lately, but I would still consider verizon.
thanks!

We use Verizon. But I don't see that as necessarily being specific to Lakewood.

I use optimum - cablevison...
it's 29.95 a month for internet (no tax) and 29.95 for phone service... so it comes out to 60 a month. you get free 411 and stuff... so the bill is never more than 60

I also use Optimum, but that $60 rate is a promotional first year rate only. It's up to $85 now and I'm looking for something cheaper that will be as fast. I also got a $200 gift card back after a few months - ask if that promotion is still around.

You have to check on the Verizon web site to see if your area is serviced. They don't provide high speed internet to every area in Lakewood yet. In my neighborhood, the only provider I can use is Optimum.
