I am starting a playgroup/ day care this year at home. I need some ideas on a different variety of toys that are good to have and also some different activities. Also any tips to make the day run smoothly. The age range is 9-11 months approx when they start. Any tips and suggestions greatly appreciated.

duplo legos- at first they can use them to bang and then with time they can learn to put them together. Also great for filling up and spilling the bucket.
stacking cups- you will have to build it but kids that age usually enjoy knocking it down again and again and again.
Little people
Cars that are the right size for their hands and really durable- they sell chunky plastic ones but I'm not sure exactly what they are called
musical instruments.
Try and structure the day a bit to help the day run smoother- time for lunch, snack, etc Also, something that not everyone does, but in my mind it's a must- play and interact with the kids!
Hope that's enough to get this thread rolling and to give you some ideas. Good luck

Soak used toys in bucket of water with a little bit of plain Clorox mixed into it, to sterilize, leave them there a half hour. Then rinse well.

From a business perpective, if home daycare licensing exists in your state, definitely do it! Parents will appreciate the stamp of approval.
