I am at a loss. We live in an oldish home and there is an aga stove type thing to heat up the house. I did nto want to use it as there is fire inside and we have a 3.5 year old, but the space heaters that we have been using are just not cutting it in terms of warming up the house and I sit at home freezing.

Does anyone know how they work? I have no clue.

Is that a neft heater? I had one in one of my apartments I lived in as a single. It had a not-so-great smell but warmed the apt so well- nothing like it. We were all adults. I would be nervous with a child around.

I think a 3 1/2 year old is old enough to know not to touch certain things.

Sort of, but it is just for heating, not for cooking. I have no idea how to even turn it on.

maybe this website will help you.

Just FYI, agas are incredibly trendy and expensive. I love the style of the cookers, although they don't sound very practical. You can get stoves that look like agas but work like modern stoves.

You probably need oil for it.

Ask your landlord how it works etc.

yeah, I know that there is a fire inside and I also doubt that my landlord knows because he purchased the house to move into in a few years so we are the first ones to move in, but I do plan on calling him tomorrow. For now, I am remaining in the room with the space heater.

So, this one is not a stove at all. It just opens up to a big burner like thing to start a fire going and then you close it. No room to place food or anything like that. At least I think it is called an aga.
