I took out our menorah which is silver plated, and I think we forgot to clean it b4 putting it away last year. Now it has gooey rancid oil all over it. How do I clean it?

Goo Gone, nail polish remover, or acetone followed by a wash in hot, soapy water and buff dry. If you object to "chemicals" you can try rubbing with baking soda and then washing with hot, soapy water, but that will take a lot more elbow grease if it works at all.

Nail polish remover won't ruin the top layer--I think it's silver plated, but I'm not sure--it was a cheap but nice menorah I bought in israel.
