Does anyone have recommendations or warnings about specific brands of electric blechs/hot plates? We've tried a few, but keep smelling smoke.

I believe the one I have is by Klass. It's great.
Do. Not. Buy. A. Cheap. One.
I've done that. The place almost burned down c"v.
Go into a better store, and ask for the best one they have.

We leave our stove on Shabbos and yomtov. It doesn't pay to buy and store something like that.

I have a great one it folds in half very compact. u can do 2 diffrent temp. I do 1 on 275 to keep warm & 1 on 300 its the best thing ever. company name is rival.

I'm asking because we used to use a stovetop blech, but it caught fire underneath (gas stove) on YT and we lost our kitchen and almost our whole house, nver mind that it was during the night - B"H we had smoke detectors. No more stove top blechs for me.

I have this hot plate for 10+ years I enjoy it every shabbos bh. I have 1 for pesach to. all my freinds bought it & thay cant thank me enough for recomending it. good luck.
