We broke matzo pieces into our cholent last year.gave it the texture and even the taste of barley.

Our cholent is the best Pesach cholent secret ever!
Meat, potatoes, and....almonds and hazelnuts to replace the beans.
Spice as normal, everything as normal except no barley (if you use) and replace beans with nuts!
The nuts get soft! The hazelnuts look kind of like chickpeas. It is delish!
Remeber there are 2 Shabbosim this Pesach!!
DH learned the nut trick in yeshiva and now the whole family does it.

I grate some potatoes into the cholent and also put in sliced zucchini which mostly dissolves and thickens it.
