I think it can.
Someone who rebels against his parents and doesn't encounter the reaction he needs (neither laxism nor unfair & unexplained punishments) will rebel against "greater" authority because children/teens need limits to understand the world, even if at the same time they don't like them: for kids in poor areas, the police - for frum kids, G-d.

I think even one's relationship with their husband can affect their relatinship with H-shem if a woman is not secure in herself & in her Yiddishkyte. If a person has issues with their husband it can be projected onto their bond with H-shem.
