I was thinking ( I do that sometimes)..... You know it is so easy to be all nice and dandy with people that think the same as us and who are like us.
But isn't it a way better mitzva in trying to be nice with some that seem different. Because truly we are all created in a G-dly image and we all have feelings so in truth we are not so different from each other!
Just my two cents you may add your four 8)

I try to have friends with different interests and backgrounds. However, sometimes there are people I just don't "click" with. Our personalities just somehow grate when put together. So, I just keep a friendly distance. It doesn't mean I hate the person, just that we get along far better as acquaintances than trying to force a friendship. Sometimes it's the best way to preserve ahavas yisroel!

Atleast you acknowledge the other persons existance as opposed to just ignoring them. G ood point though sometimes we can create more friction when we don't set limits
