It's been years since I've read either, but I liked The One Minute Mother, and a Jewish book by Rochel Arbus (a bit more of old fashioned but very good).
Apropos to this, in the pre-Shavuos Hamodia there was an article in the Kinyan section by Rabbi Ginsburg about chinuch books. Good reading.

My two absolute favourite books that I'll read again and again are
"A delicate Balance" by Sara Chana Radcliffe
and
"With hearts full of love", speeches by Rabbi Salomon, Artscroll
I just discovered this book and it is AMAZING! It has short sections so one can read it in between just for a few minutes and his insights made me look at many things in a whole new way. Absolute must read, at least take a look into it!
Another one I can recommend is "401 Ways to Get Your Kids to Work at Home" By McCollough, recommended by a Rebezzin here and very helpful! Practical ideas how- well, see the title ;-)

I know this is an old post but like I've written before, some weird filtering problem is not allowing me to post new posts, only reply. Thanks for bearing with me.
I am interested in more recommendations if anyone has any.

I actually prefer tapes to books - somehow I don't get to the books as often.
I love tapes by R' Orloweck. He has books too - "My child my Disciple" for example, and "Raising Roses Among the Thorns" or something like that.
Loved "The Blessing of a Skinned Knee" - very easy read and great lessons there.

I like Sara Chana Radcliffe. She has a jewish version and a not specifically Jewish one called "Raising your child without raising your voice".

I have this book and really like it too. And, as someone else mentioned, How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk. A must read for every parent.

Delicate balance (my first! Mati was a couple months old) - I didn't relate to Raising your voice one
Skinned knee
Hold on to your kids
Raising child with soul
Generally all advice on child rearing from rav Wolbe and rebb. Esther Jungreis - her dd Slovie Wolff wrote the aforementioned
I seem to remember a great chapt on chinuch in dear daughter (rav Goldschmidt)
The Joy of educationg children (based on Rav Hirsch zatsal)
I also read Rosemond, not for the applied punishments but for reinforcement that discipline is good.

Do you have an author and publisher for this?

The Well Behaved Child
by John Rosemond.
Very not contemporaneity style. A real breath of fresh air.
