I'm making vegetable kugel muffins, grilled chicken salad, sweet and sour salmon, diet cheesecake, chicken soup, to name a few. They're all yum and 100% within reasonable calorie borders.

It's not only what you eat, it's exercise. Make sure to get some good walks in !

I find that if I dont let myself cheat on special occasions like shavuos, I end up binging on everything in sight a week later so what I do is if theres something I want that is full of nasty calories I save it for after I've filled up on healthy things and at that point I either dont want it as much or eat a lot less of it

I can post an amazing cheese cake recipe if you'd like. It is low fat and uses sugar substitute.

Very few kugels.
Lots of fresh healthy salads.
Lots of simple vegetable sides - like roasted string beans, sugar snap peas, carrots, beats, sweet potato, zuchhini, eggplant, broccoli, cauliflower....
Very few starchy side dishes.
the problem is that very few of that can be made in advance, and I can't cook last minute. So I'm not sure how I'm going to work that part out.
I will eat a slice of cheesecake or other special shavous foods. But I try to keep the meals from being very heavy, fatty and starchy.

Cheese cake recipe
I use a sugar substitute, diabetisweet, you can use splenda also. It is low fat as well
for crust, I crush sugar free cookies - just a little at the bottom of the pan
mixture:
4 packs farmer cheese
one and one quarter to one and a half cup splenda
4 heaping table spoons flour
1 small container plain greek yogurt. (original recipe calls for 4 heaping table spoons sour cream)
2-3 pks vanilla sugar
half lemon juiced
4 eggs separated - yellows go in mix and whites get whipped.
mix mixture then fold whites into batter.
spray pan, then put crushed cookies on bottom
pour in cheese mixture
bake 355 - 360 for over an hour
